ThinManager pricing is discounted based on volume. Each congruent device connection uses a license. An easy way to think about it is if you have 4 thin clients and 1 iPad active and connected to your ThinManager configuration, you are using 5 connection licenses. When the iPad disconnects or turns off, you are using 4. This flexible volume-based discount pricing is called V-Flex licensing.

TMA vs FTA

There are two different license types can be used to activate ThinManager. TMA or ThinManager Activation and FTA or FactoryTalk Activation.

FactoryTalk Activation Manager is used by Rockwell Automation to manage the licensing across their portfolio of software products. If you use other Rockwell Automation software, this is the recommended license type.

Subscription vs Perpetual

ThinManager can be licensed as a subscription service. We offer term lengths up to 5 years allowing you to lock in your pricing without concern of price increases for the entire term of your agreement. You can still choose to pay annually if desired or completely upfront depending on your operating expenses and preference.
